There was never a better time to understand the visionary, eccentric and perhaps prophetic writer and artist William Blake than the present moment. It's actually something my guest said on this episode that captured my imagination – the most important faculty according to Blake off course – that the more time passes between us and Blake and the more our sciences discover and explain the world for us, the more we come to realize that oh yeah, Blake understood all of that already.

What did Blake understand exactly? I'll leave that for my guest, one of the authors working and writing today whom I love and learn from the most, the great john Higgs who wrote a wonderful book about Blake: “William Blake Vs. the World”. We also talked about Blake's mythology, his visions, and why we should maybe compare him to Tolkien.

And so I Hope you'll enjoy our conversation, and don't forget to follow and maybe even rate our podcast wherever you listen to it so others could find it out as well.
